So, what happens on the third day of your journal, when you have no idea what you are going to journal about? Surely there is SOMETHING I could pontificate on for a page or so?
First off, I would like to point out that this does not bode well for my longevity in the field of daily journaling. If I can’t fill the page on day three, I’m certain I’ll be typing nonsensical monosyllabic words by Friday. In fact, that might be better than what is currently happening.
Secondly, even though this is just for myself, I’m posting it to my blog, so there should be something worthwhile to read. Some deep dark secret, some dalliance from my past, a last minute confession of murdering the neighbor’s dog – possibly the neighbor – You know; something GOOD.
I was hoping for the written equivalent of “Stairway to Heaven” or “Bohemian Rhapsody”, today, but you and I, faithful reader, may have to settle for a sad, slightly off-key version of “happy birthday”.
Everything I’ve read about journaling swears that I’ll start learning more about myself, improve my writing style, and build strength and consistency in my ability to complete projects.
I guess that all starts on day four, ’cause day three sucks…
