Mort was just too cool to share the spotlight.

Mort was a feeling a bit cramped over on VinceUnleashed.net – so I decided to give him his own little space on the web – A place he can call home – even though he really doesn’t have one (perhaps he actually owns everything, and chooses to walk-about?).

Right now it’s a bit plain and generic, but that will improve over time. The website will grow as the Mort Monday strip grows – there’s much developing behind the scenes! In fact, next week’s strip will show the benefits not only of Mort’s author getting in some practice time at the drawing easel, but actually cracking open a “how to draw comics” book! I believe you’ll find the difference striking.

No, I’m not a Schulz or a Watterson – but good ol’ Mort has a few tricks up his sleeve. When I initially sat down way back in the 80′s (dang, time flies…), I scribbled down many pages of notes, and almost 60 complete strips!

Of course, times have changed, and with my maturing the strip has matured – even before it ever officially began. Over the years, I pulled the notes out of a drawer, made a few more, wished my drawing was up to snuff with what I wanted to present, and put it all back in the drawer.

Two months ago, I pulled the notes out one more time – and this time, they stayed out. The difference between then and now? I’ll get into that in a later post – I’ve taken up enough of your time, here – feel free to look around, kick the tires, look over the four strips currently up, and let people know about some wacky guy who wants to draw a comic strip about a man with no home – does it mean he has no hope? We’ll see!
